Anaridex 1mg is primarily used to treat hormone receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women by reducing estrogen levels in the body. It is used for both early and advanced stages of the disease, either alone or with other treatments like surgery or radiation.  

Uses

Early-stage breast cancer: 

To treat breast cancer in women who have gone through menopause, either on its own or along with other treatments. 

Advanced breast cancer: 

As an initial treatment for advanced breast cancer that has spread within the breast or to other parts of the body. 

Mechanism: 

Anaridex contains anastrozole, which belongs to a class of drugs called aromatase inhibitors. These work by blocking an enzyme that produces estrogen, thereby slowing or stopping the growth of estrogen-sensitive cancer cells. 

Important considerations

Menopause: 

Anaridex is generally given only to women who have gone through menopause. If periods begin again while taking the medication, it is important to use reliable contraception and inform your doctor. 

Other conditions: 

You should inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney conditions before taking this medication. 

Other medications: 

Anaridex should not be used with tamoxifen and can be affected by other estrogen-containing products like birth control pills or estrogen creams.
